The realm of Hospitality has grown beyond leaps and bounds and traversed remarkable avenues which have not only broadened the industry but made it one of the major employment generating sectors of the world. With the increase in travel and tourism, emergence of global tourism- the dynamics of hospitality have changed and generated employment opportunities of diverse nature.

If one nurtures a passion for cooking or baking or loves to interact with people, if one loves to bring a smile on people’s faces – this industry is made for you. The three year undergraduate degree program offers a perfect blend of subjects that train the students in core areas of hospitality operations- Food Production, Food and Beverage Service, Front Office Operations and Accommodations Management. The curriculum of each year is designed by keeping in mind the requirements of the industry, emergent trends in the core areas and competency in terms of employment generation.

Duration: 3 years (6 Semesters)

Indian Students

The University welcomes applications from all the aspirants who have completed their High School Examination in any discipline from any recognised university or an equivalent diploma recognised by the University Grants Commission with minimum of 40% marks

  • 10th (SSC) Statement of Marks

  • Photo ID Proof (PAN card / Passport / Driving License / Election Card )

  • Passport Size Photograph (not more than 3 months old)

International Students

Proof of Education
  • Graduation Transcripts
  • O Level Certificate (completing 10 years of formal schooling. Diploma will not be acceptable)
  • A Level Certificate (completing 12 yrs of formal schooling. Diploma will not be acceptable)
  • Graduation Degree with Minimum 35% or Equivalent Marks (3 years or 4 years degree program. Diploma will not be acceptable)
  • Certificate of Equivalence from Association of Indian Universities (required by any student with foreign education to apply in any University in INDIA, refer to https://www.aiu.ac.in)

  • Passport Size Photograph (not more than 3 months old)
  • Attested Copy of Passport.
  • Attested Copy of VISA (If applicants are not living in their native country).

After completing the course there are various job opportunities for the student to work with large hotel chains including the Taj group, ITC, Oberoi hotels, Hilton group etc. There is a huge demand of skilled professionals in the merchant navy and cruise ship.

After pursuing courses in this field, there are ample of job opportunities are waiting for you in various areas such as Cafeteria, Airline Catering (flight kitchen) and Cabin Services, Club management, Cruise Ship Hotel Management, Hospital administration and catering, Hotel and Tourism Associations, Hospitality services in the Indian Navy, Forest Lodges, Guest Houses, resorts, Kitchen Management Catering departments of railways, banks, armed forces, shipping companies, etc.

The three year graduate degree program, B.Sc. in Hospitality Studies is spread across 6 semesters , and includes 5 subjects in each semester. The detailed program structure is as follows :

Evaluation of student performance in each program-unit has two components :

  1. internal continuous assessment (program work) and
  2. evaluation of the assignments will out of 30 marks
  3. Passing marks in assignments out of 30 will be 12 marks
  4. The term end examinations which are held at the end of Semester will be out of 70 marks
  5. Passing marks in the semester end examination out of 70 will be 23 marks.
  6. Overall out of 100 marks a student needs to score 35 marks to pass.

The level of student academic performance as the aggregate of continuous evaluation and end semester examination is reflected by letter grades on a ten - point scale according to the connotations given below :

Program credit units are integer numbers indicating the weightage assigned to a program unit, project. Research work, summer internship etc. on the basis of contact hours per week on all learning activities.

Minimum Academic Requirements :

  • The student must score a minimum Grade 'E' in each program unit.
  • The minimum passing SGPA for each semester is 4.0 for Under Graduate Programs and 4.0 for Graduate
